This show is sanctioned by the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) and their rules shall govern.
- The following breeds will be sanctioned by the ADGA: Alpines, La Mancha, Nubian, Saanen, Recorded Grade, Nigerian Dwarf, and All Other Purebred (Toggenburg, Oberhasli & Sable).
- Entry fee will be $3.50/animal if postmarked by July 1, 2011 after that date the fee will be $5.00/animal. Pens available for $3.00/animal pen or tack pen. Bedding not provided. Send entries to: Randi Potts, 2190 E 400 N, Rensselaer, IN 47978, (219)613-7479(cell)or (219) 742-7554 {Nancy Potts}
- *IF you pre-register & CAN’T make it, please contact us so we know not to expect you, if it is possible.
- Early check in will take place Saturday July 30, 2011, from 7-10 PM.
- Animals must be checked in and in place from7-9 a.m., Sunday July 21, 2011. Release will be immediately following the show, any goats or tack remaining in the barn is not the responsibility of the Porter County Agriculture Society or open show committee. Sleeping in the barns in not permitted.
- If you win a breed champion you MUST stay for the best doe to make the classes official with ADGA.
- The base date for computing the age of an animal is July 31, 2011
- The original registration certificate is required for a doe six months of age or older. The original registration certificate of duplicate application stamped by ADGA office is required for a doe under six months of age and this must be shown to the show secretary before the start of the show. No copies of the registration certificate or the stamped duplicate application, telegrams or phone calls will be accepted in view of the original certificate.
- No horned animals allowed.
- There will be no pre-show milk out
- All out of state goats must carry an official health certificate from the state of origin within 30 days. All health papers must include your Federal Scrapie ID number. Indiana goats do not need a health certificate for in-state exhibition. Goats will be examined upon check-in/arrival and any animals showing signs of infectious disease or ill health will be barred from the barns by the authority of the Porter County Open Goat show committee and/or the county vet
- The Porter County Fair will not be responsible for animals, personal property or accidents.
- No dogs allowed in the barns.
- Clipping is optional, but CLEAN GOATS are to be presented
- Any fans used must be finger guard protected.
- No alcoholic beverages allowed on the property.
- Showmanship will begin promptly at 10:00AM Central, Sunday, July 31, 2011. Followed by Sr. Doe & Jr. Doe shows, and concluded with group classes
- The Junior and Senior shows are separately sanctioned
**Food will be available from various food vendors at the fair.
**Show order: Showmanship, Sr. Does, Jr. Doe, Herd Classes

Junior: 10-14 years

Senior Doe Show
S1. Does under 2 years (milking)
S2. Does 2 years and under 3years (milking)
S3. Does 3 years and under 5 years (milking)
S4. Does 5 years and over (milking)
Breed Champions & Reserves will be given rosettes.
Best Senior Doe of Show will be chosen at the completion of the breed champion selection.
Junior Doe Show
J5. Junior Does (born on or after April 1, 2011)
J6. Intermediate Does (born March 1 through March 31, 2011)
J7. Senior Does (born January 1 through February 28, 2011)
J8. Junior Yearling Doe (born June 1, 2011 through December 31, 2010)
J9. Senior Yearling Doe (born before June 1, 2010 and under 2 years)
Breed Champions & Reserves will be given rosettes.
Best Junior Doe of Show will be chosen at the completion of the breed champion selection.
Specialty group classes—various prizes will be awarded for these classes: *Animals shown in the herd classes must be registered in the regular breed classes to be eligible.
G10. Get of Sire: two does from the same father (mother may be different), any breed & age
G11. Dam & Daughter: mother and daughter, any breed & age
G12. Produce of Dam: two does from the same mother (father may be different), any breed & age
G13. Herd Class: 3-5 animals from one herd, any breed & age (All animals in this class must belong to one exhibitor)
Enter through gate #2, where you will be given access into the fair. We are allowing 1 person per animal to enter this gate. If you have more than that, the gate entry fee is $5.00 for 10 and up, and free under 10 years old.
